The 16th City of Westminster is based in Pimlico in West London. We run Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers sections for young people from ages 6 to 18.

Each section meets weekly during term time. We also have regular camping trips and other adventurous activities, such as summer camps.

Our young people come from around Pimlico, Westminster, Chelsea, Vauxhall, and beyond. Scouts is for everyone, including all faiths, and no faith at all. We are a mixed-gender group.

Our leaders

Our volunteers are what drive the group. They make sure our evening programme and outdoor activities are exciting, challenging, and engaging for young people.

Being a scout leader is an excellent way to learn new skills, do new activities like archery or white water rafting, and even develop your career with leadership and management skills. Our group is always looking for new leaders, no experience required – many of our leaders have never been scouts.

Our location and sponsor

We meet at St Gabriel’s Church Halls, Glasgow Terrace, in Churchill Gardens. The scout group has met in these halls since its founding in 1910, and we are proud to be sponsored by St Gabriel’s Church.

As a sponsored group it is important for us to give back to the community. We attend church services on events like Remembrance Day and St George’s Day. We also volunteer with the church and do projects such as gardening and cleaning.

Our history

Our history pages are full of amazing photographs and incredible stories spanning our century-long existence. Our group served in the First and Second World War both overseas and on the home front, assisted at Coronations, and we have gone on too many adventures to count! We are continuing to learn more about our history and add items to the website.

We want to hear from old scouts and leaders, if you used to be at the 16th please get in touch on our Contact page.
